Hyundai Santa Fe is a mid-size crossover sports utility vehicle (SUV), D+ Segment car in India. competing against vehicles such as the Honda CR-V, Ford Endeavour and Chevrolet Captiva. Hyundai Santa Fe is a replacement for its mid-end sedan Elantra either with i30 or Avante in the executive sedan segment where it is absent since the company phased out Elantra from the domestic market. At present, Hyundai Motors offers a compact SUV, Tucson, to Indian customers for Rs 15.98 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The base price of the Hyundai Santa Fe is arounf Rs 8.5 lakh. But This powerful SUV is pitted against the market leader Honda CR-V and is packed with host of luxurious, versatile, and futuristic technologies. It will be priced above the CR-V. the ex-showroom price of Hyundai Santa Fe around Rs 23 Lakh to 26 Lakh. Hyundai Santa Fe will be available overseas in two Variants, such as Santa Fe 2.2 CRTD, Santa Fe 2.2 CRTD Auto Along with its plans to introduce a new SUV in the Indian market. Hyundai Santa Fe will come with a standard CRDi engine, the two variants that include the 2.7-litre petrol engine with a power output of 190 bhp and 2.2-litre diesel engine with a power delivery of 151 bhp.

Mitsubishi planing to launch Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X in India expected to June or in July 2009. Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X is a D-segment Luxury Sedan car in India. Mitsubishi is planning to bring Evo 10 to India through the completely built route (import) and right now, there are no plans of making the carlocally in the country.
